Advising on the Law, Governance and Regulation of Not for Profits

Murray was the inaugural Assistant Commissioner General Counsel at the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission from its inception in 2012 until 2019. In this role he was responsible for Registration, Compliance, Legal and Policy functions of the national regulator. Prior to that he was Senior Partner and Leader of the Not for Profit Law Group at Moores Legal in Melbourne. During that time, he was an advisor to numerous charities and instructing solicitor in several leading cases in charity law. Murray has trained in Advanced Mediation at Bond University, Queensland, and completed the Strategic Business Management Program at Harvard University Extension School.
